More then just a fishing holiday in France - La Retraite Carp Fishing is a wonderful experience for everyone.

The grounds are protected by a private gate at the front of the property, you drive from the road through the woods to the lake and accommodation. You can roam in the natural woodland where you will find the lake, surrounded by unspoilt meadows. There are two islands on the Lake, with a bridge to one of them, lily pads and small reed beds. The Lake is very natural and unspoilt and fed from a natural spring ensuring a rich and diverse natural diet for the fish.

The woods are a haven for wildlife and you will hear plenty (and occasionally see) of the natural residents of La Retraite including:

Lizards, Ragondin (who you will see regularly swimming across the lake) Kingfishers, Polecats, Wild Boar and Roedeer (both are very beautiful shy creatures).

This is an ideal base for fishing, walking, cycling, swimming or just relaxing watching the local wildlife and migrating birds. Relax in the extensive grounds at La Retraite or simply enjoy the solitude of walking around the grounds.
